Pathfinders Commences New Adult Literacy Initiative Session

BENIN CITY, EDO STATE- MARCH 2024. Pathfinders Adult Literacy Initiative (PALI), our free adult literacy initiative for women and girls, began a new session of classes for 18 women on 21 March 2024 at our two campuses in Benin City, Ogba and GRA. The session will run for three months and round up with a graduation and certificate award ceremony in June.

PALI provides textbooks, notebooks and stationary, which are, at no cost, distributed to all learners. Each student is also given a transportation stipend at the end of every class to ensure undisrupted learning. This session covers basic English, Arithmetic and Home Economics. Students also learn the dangers of trafficking and how to avoid the schemes of traffickers. We hope that at the end of the session, they will not only be equipped with the basics of reading and writing, but will also be sensitized to the dangers of human trafficking. We are grateful to the United States State Department for its support for the session. The opinions contained herein are those of Pathfinders alone.
