PATHFINDERS LAUNCHES BUSINESS ACADEMY FOR ‘THE FREEDOM PROJECT’ BENEFICIARIES

BENIN CITY, EDO STATE- To equip female survivors of trafficking, SGBV and at-risk women with the necessary skillset and mindset for identifying, launching and sustaining new business ventures, Pathfinders Business Academy classes began on April 11th, 2023. The overall objective is to ensure that all beneficiaries have transferable business and life skills to run their businesses effectively, become excellent entrepreneurs and even apply the knowledge gained in other situations when needed.

The training, which is proceeding for five weeks, is designed to simplify complex business concepts and deliver them in informative, engaging and interactive lectures from our beneficiaries’ standpoint. The academic session involves a structured curriculum of 10–15 sessions for students to acquire four primary skills—interpersonal/personal, creative thinking, financial management and risk management.  The facilitators have a business background and experience organising similar entrepreneurship programs.

The Freedom Project is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State, for which we are grateful. The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s and do not necessarily reflect those of the United States Department of State.
