Pathfinders Graduates our First Adult Education Program Students

Congratulations to the Class of 2021/2022!

It was a colorful and heartwarming ceremony, as 24 students from our three adult education campuses in Edo State gathered to celebrate their successful completion of a 3-month program at our Pathfinders Adult Literacy Institute (PALI). PALI, which  partners with women in local communities to provide free adult education courses as a way to decrease vulnerability to trafficking, began in November 2021 and afforded the women an opportunity to learn basic arithmetic, English, as well as the dangers of sex trafficking and other social ills. The students who were magnificently dressed in their graduation gowns did not mince words during their testimonials, as they vibrantly shared the positive impact of their time at PALI.

During the ceremony, the Uzebu campus students reenacted a typical recruiting scenario which clearly reflected their in-depth understanding of the dangers of trafficking. They also all signed an Anti-Trafficking pledge to serve as anti-trafficking ambassadors in their local communities. The graduation ceremony came to an end after the students were awarded their certificates of completion at PALI, gifts, refreshments and transportation fare.
