June 2014: PJI partners with the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition in its push for the Assembly of the State of New York to adopt into law the Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act (A.2240/S.2135). On March 16, 2015, the New York State Assembly finally passed the TVPJA which more fully protects survivors and holds exploiters accountable.
