BENIN CITY, EDO STATE- Following the graduation of Cohort 3, classes commenced for 20 students enrolled as Cohort 4 in our Pathfinders Adult Literacy Initiative (PALI), a free community literacy initiative for women ages 15+, on June 13, 2023 at our two locations, Faith and Ogba Campuses. Since commencement in June, 5 classes have been conducted in all 3 courses, namely English, basic Mathematics and the Dangers of Trafficking, a course aimed at reducing vulnerability to human trafficking and raising anti-trafficking ambassadors.
All incoming students enrolled in the 3 month course are being encouraged to put their best foot forward to ensure that they accomplish their objectives in enrolling. They have also been encouraged by the testimonials of prior students who report an increase in their mental health, particularly their self esteem and self worth, both in their professional and personal lives. Outgoing students also inform us that they now consider learning a natural and integral aspect of their everyday lives, a testament to the transformative nature of the course.
‘The Freedom Project’ is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State to which we are grateful. The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s and do not necessarily reflect those of the United States Department of State.
