‘The Freedom Project’ Rounds Off its Adaptive Business Training for Beneficiaries

SEPTEMBER 2023, BENIN CITY. In this final Adaptive Business Training conducted on September 18th and 20th, 2023, survivors were taken on educational excursions to thriving businesses within Benin City to gain practical knowledge on running a business and surviving economic downturns. The beneficiaries were divided into groups and escorted by PJI staff to establishments specializing in catering, hair care (braiding and installation of wigs) and tailoring.

All beneficiaries were delighted to have access to the owners of the businesses who shared their wealth of knowledge with them. Beneficiaries engaged and networked within their chosen business field, whereby opening a whole new world of opportunities and enhancing their outlook towards what is possible. Furthermore, they gained new skills and knowledge that will help them advance in their professional lives. We will now proceed with registering several of the survivors’ businesses with the Corporation Affairs Commission (CAC) and showcasing their products at our upcoming M&E closeout event.

Each survivor was provided with a transportation stipend at the end of the excursion.
