PJI recently conducted a medical outreach that focused on preventative healthcare, health education and basic medical screening for 140 Project Restore (Year 3) beneficiaries. Participants received health seminars on diabetes prevention and management, sexual and reproductive health, cervical and breast cancer awareness, blood pressure management and nutrition. They also had individual consultations with a medical doctor, followed by blood sugar and blood pressure checks, eye examinations and dental checks. In other words, the outreach provided participants with practical health information, professional guidance and access to basic screenings to support early detection and healthier lifestyle choices.
Through these and similar initiatives, PJI continues to promote wellbeing as an important part of empowerment and sustainable reintegration for survivors of sex trafficking.
