PJI partnered with Benson Idahosa University in Benin City, Nigeria, to launch its international #TakeMeOffMute total self defense Campaign on October 22, 2014. Backed by prominent voices around the world, including women’s rights activist, Dr. Joe Odumakin, International Federation of Women Lawyers (Edo Chapter) and the National Human Rights Commission, the holistic Campaign which is aggressively taking Nigeria by storm, focuses on the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical empowerment of young women and girls via various workshops and self defense programs targeting the mind, body and spirit. The Campaign also engages young men as allies and activists in the promotion of gender justice and will promote gender equality throughout the developing world.
