Pathfinders Organizes Legal Training Under Project Rise (3)

BENIN CITY, EDO STATE- on August 21, 2024, Pathfinders Justice Initiative (PJI) conducted a legal training for 52 beneficiaries, including 10 women who are at risk to trafficking further to its Project Rise. Based on subject areas identified by our project beneficiaries, the training was conducted by expert lawyers and covered the critical topics of spousal and child support rights, business laws and registration. Participants, many of whom will be receiving support from Pathfinders to start small businesses, gained valuable insights into the business registration procedures, the distinction between company and business name registration as well as relevant state and federal laws. The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment and one-on-one counseling, providing beneficiaries with the opportunity to address their individual concerns relating to child and spousal support. Participants also received transportation stipends and refreshments to help facilitate their attendance.

Project Rise (3) project is funded by a grant from Operation Underground Railroad, to which we are grateful.
