BENIN CITY, EDO STATE. In mid-December 2023, just in time for the holidays, Pathfinders organised a food drive for 30 beneficiaries of ‘Project Restore’, a project which seeks to scale our holistic direct services across three local government areas in Edo State.
All 30 beneficiaries were overjoyed by the food drive, an aspect of our work which is instrumental for survivors as they begin their recovery process, as it addresses an emergency need during difficult economic realities. Each beneficiary received rice, beans, cooking spices, packs of milk and milo, a row of cornflakes cereal, a 5kg bag of garri, pasta, palm oil, vegetable oil, detergent, bathing soap, sachet tomato paste, sanitary pads and tissue, toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving sticks and diapers for nursing mothers. We expect these supplies to support each beneficiary and her family members for several months so that they are able to focus on their recovery.
‘Restore Project’ is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State, to which we are grateful. The opinions, findings, and conclusions presented are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s and do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Department of State.
