BENIN CITY, EDO STATE. We recently organised a training session for 44 beneficiaries of our ‘Reach One, Reach Many’ Project, supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The training, which focused on mental health and wellness, addressed self-forgiveness, a recipe for growth and development. To further buttress the training objective, a panel session featuring four Pathfinders survivor advocates followed, with the advocates sharing their stories of resilience and healing. They discussed their journeys to wholeness and how they managed to overcome the stigma and trauma of trafficking in order to thrive in their respective entrepreneurial ventures. The panel discussion sparked thought-provoking questions, with beneficiaries eagerly seeking additional guidance. Following the successful training, the beneficiaries were provided with refreshments, alongside a transportation stipend to facilitate their safe return home.
‘Reach One, Reach Many’ is funded by the UNODC’s Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons, to which we are grateful. The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s and do not necessarily reflect those of the UNVTF.
