Pathfinders Conducts Medical Outreach for PTF (5) Project Beneficiaries

In bringing our United Nations’ Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) ‘Pathway to Freedom’ (5) Project to a close, Pathfinders, in collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s (NNPC) Medical Team in Benin City, recently conducted a medical outreach for twenty-five (25) Project beneficiaries.

The outreach offered a holistic approach to rehabilitation by addressing survivors’ health needs and general well-being as well as providing an essential educational platform to enlighten survivors about their self-care, fitness, exercise, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health and personal hygiene.

As part of the activities conducted, the medical team from NNPC (including doctors and nurses) ensured that every beneficiary received a thorough screenings of their blood pressure, blood sugar, oral hygiene, body mass index and an eye examination.  All beneficiaries were provided with transportation stipends at the close of the outreach.

We are grateful to the OHCHR for the grant which funded ‘Pathway to Freedom’ (5). The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s and do not necessarily reflect those of the United Nations OHCHR.  To support our work, please email info@pathfindersji.org.
