Pathfinders at the ICCF Missions IDP Camp!

fullsizerender-7We are so excited to have partnered with CWFI Skill Acquisition Center on November 22, 2016 to provide vocational skills training to 39 women who were widowed by Boko Haram and are now being hosted by the ICCF MissionsInternally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Edo State, Nigeria. Many of these women were themselves abused by members of Boko Haram, the world’s deadliest terrorist group, after being forced to watch their children and husbands murdered.  They have witnessed the worst of humanity and are yet, eager to reclaim their lives.
All 39 widows were trained in bag design, catering and talcum powder production. Our goal is to create a market even within the IDP camp where they can begin to use these skills to financially empower themselves before returning back to the war-torn North-East once Boko Haram is eradicated.

When you empower a woman, you empower a community.
Sincere thanks to CWFI Skills Acquisition Centre, Benin City, Nigeria.
