PJI Provides Vocational Skills Training for Widowed IDPs

August 15, 2017

BENIN CITY, NIGERIA- August 10, 2017.  Via our Hearts of Hope Project, which provides support to survivors of the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria, and in partnership with CWFI Skills Acquisition Centre, PJI provided our quarterly vocational skills training to 50 widows at the ICCF Missions Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Benin City.  (The camp is hosting approximately 2,000 survivors of the Boko Haram insurgency, half of which are children.)  The women received training in soap making, perfume making and snack making.  Our hope is that the training will translate to skills that can be utilized by the women after the insurgency is defeated and they return to their homes in the North-East of Nigeria.  To support this effort, please email info@pathfindersji.org.
