BENIN CITY, NIGERIA- April 12, 2017. We are pleased to announce our latest partnership with the Edo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, to tackle the issue of sex trafficking in Edo State, Nigeria. The unfortunate reality is that Edo State is an internationally recognized sex trafficking hub and arguably the largest source country for human bodies on the continent of Africa (over 90% of women and girls trafficked into the European sex industry are from Edo State, Nigeria). This administration wants to change that reputation and we are honoured to be the NGO that has been called upon to partner with them to curate a new vision for the State. Change is coming to Edo State. We look forward to our upcoming workshop in May 2017 which will bring national and international stakeholders to the table to collectively tackle and eradicate the issue of modern day slavery in Edo.
