We’re so grateful to share the success of our recent food drive, where 55 brave survivors of trafficking received food and hygiene supplies to help ease their journey back to stability.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners and supporters, each survivor received a well-rounded package including staples like brown beans, rice, garri, ogbono, egusi, yam, crayfish, and both vegetable and red oil, providing the foundation for nourishing home-cooked meals. We also included helpful pantry essentials like salt, tomato paste, spaghetti, seasoning cubes, curry, and thyme to make cooking easier and meals tastier. To support personal care and hygiene, survivors were provided with items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, detergent, body soap, deodorant, shaving sticks, tissue, sanitary pads, and baby diapers. Full cream milk and beverages added a comforting touch, especially for their young ones.
In addition to survivors present from nearby LGAs (Egor and Ikpoba Okha), our team also travelled to the Orhionmwon community to deliver food packages directly to beneficiaries there, ensuring no one was left behind. The beneficiaries were also provided with a transport stipend to convey their packages home.
At a time when food prices have skyrocketed, and many of these individuals have little to no access to regular, basic meals, these beneficiaries joyfully acknowledged that the intervention meant more than just supplies; it offered them relief, stability, and hope.
