‘The Freedom Project’ Conducts Food Drive for 50 Program Beneficiaries

September 29, 2022

SEPTEMBER 29, 2022-BENIN CITY, EDO STATE.  On September 29, 2022, Pathfinders provided humanitarian support via a food drive for fifty (50) beneficiaries of our The Freedom Project.  Via this U.S. Department of State funded Project, each beneficiary received food that was customised to her specific needs, including any of the following: a bag of rice, a bag of beans, a bag of garri, a keg of palm oil, a barrel of groundnut oil, sachet tomato paste, a cartoon of indomie noodles, a sachet of milk, a sachet of milo beverage, food spices, two sachets of salt, five packets of spaghetti noodles, sachets of detergent, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant spray and roll-on, body spray, sanitary pads, two bags of toilet tissue, a pack of baby diapers (for nursing mothers), bar and detergent soap, four cups of melon seed (Egusi), 2 cups of Irvingia seed (Ogbono), four cups of dried crayfish and a transportation stipend. This support will go a long way to reduce food insecurity and thus reduce vulnerability to sexploitation, trafficking and retrafficking. It will also allow beneficiaries to focus on their skills training or newly launched small businesses, for at least this quarter, without the concerns of daily feeding for themselves or their children.

The Freedom Project is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State, to which we are grateful. The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s and do not necessarily reflect those of the United States Department of State.  To support our work, please email info@pathfindersji.org.
