EDO STATE, NIGERIA- on December 28, 2014, Pathfinders conducted an anti-sex trafficking workshop in Edo State, the Nigerian State from which the most women are trafficked to Europe. Edo State is also the State with the largest group of women in prostitution from Sub-Saharan Africa and a State in which one in every three young women has been approached by a trafficker. The workshop focused on the far reaching implications of this form of modern day slavery and offered alternatives for young women who feel trapped by the lack of economic empowerment.
