Over the past three months, 7 ‘Project Restore’ beneficiaries in our recently concluded Pathfinders Adult Literacy Initiative (PALI) program learned to read, write, calculate, and communicate with confidence. These are simple yet powerful skills that now help them manage their businesses better, make informed financial decisions and navigate everyday life with greater independence.
Beyond literacy, the classroom became a space of rediscovery. For many of the women, it was their first time in years feeling seen, capable, and hopeful. They found joy in learning again, in raising their hands to answer questions, and in realizing that growth remains possible at any age.
This progress was made possible by the commitment of our PALI facilitators who taught with patience and empathy, and by the strength of the women who refused to let their circumstances define them. On October 24, 2025, we celebrated their courage as they received their certificates, not just as graduates,
but as women who had reclaimed their confidence and voice.
We also witnessed them enthusiastically sign an anti-trafficking pledge, committing to raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking. After the ceremony, participants received refreshments, thoughtful gifts, and transportation fare.
‘Project Restore’ is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State, to which we are grateful. The opinions, findings, and conclusions presented are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s and do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Department of State.
