Pathfinders Graduates 3rd Adult Literacy Education Program Class

BENIN CITY, EDO- It was an exciting day, as all twenty-three (23) students enrolled in our Pathfinders Adult Literacy Initiative (PALI) concluded their 3-month education course. The students, from our Ogba and Faith campus, were trained in the basics of English and Arithmetic and sensitized on the dangers of human trafficking.

These 3rd batch of students were particularly grateful to move beyond the shame of being uneducated at a young age and spoke with pride about the confidence that an education now provides. Many also shared, emotionally, about now being able to complete basic banking and other transactions without the help of others. Indeed, the ceremony was a testament to how impactful the lessons have been.

All graduating students received a lecture on further steps to improve the knowledge gained from PALI and affirmed their willingness to advocate against human trafficking in their respective communities by signing our Anti-Trafficking Pledge. The event ended after all graduates received their certificates of completion, refreshments and a transportation stipend.

PALI is an arm of Pathfinders’ The Freedom Project, funded by a grant from the United States Department of State. The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are those of Pathfinders Justice Initiative and do not necessarily reflect those of the United States Department of State.
