Pathfinders Conducts Food Drive for ‘The Freedom Project’ Beneficiaries

DECEMBER 2022- BENIN CITY. The hardship for our beneficiaries that began with the COVID-19 pandemic has yet to end. In an effort to ensure that they can meet their basic needs while we simultaneously reintegrate them into society and prevent them from being re-trafficked, PJI organized a food drive on December 15th, 2022 for all 40 ‘The Freedom Project’ beneficiaries.

The event began with a refresher training on ‘Self Esteem and Decision-Making Skills’ to ensure that they stay on the course of being competent in such areas. They were also advised on the basics of starting a business and making headway in the labour market.

After the training, each beneficiary received a bag of rice, a bag of beans, a bag of garri, a keg of palm oil, a barrel of groundnut oil, three rows of sachet tomato paste, a cartoon of indomie noodles, a sachet of milk, a sachet of milo beverage, food spices, a sachet of salt, six packs of spaghetti, two sachets of detergent, two rows of bathing soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant spray and roll-on, five packs of sanitary pads, three packs of toilet tissue and a transportation stipend.

‘The Freedom Project’ is funded by a grant from the United States Department of State, to which we are grateful. The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are Pathfinders Justice Initiative’s opinions and do not necessarily reflect those of the United States Department of State.
